Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We do the work ourselves and do not subcontract, so your price will reflect the cost of work to be completed. No surprises.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
1. Meet and greet clients or project owners for an on site estimate 2. Complete Estimate and sent to client 3. Sign contract 4. Schedule work

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Master Carpenter

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I wanted to build awesome houses so I became a carpenter and learned how to build them from the ground up.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We work with people just like us, for the most part. Homeowners who need large repairs, more space or a heavy creative construction solution. Our Builders love a challenge to flex their creative sides.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We recently replaced a foundation on a house flip in Portland. The homeowner noticed the floor was sloped about 4” from one side of the kitchen to the other. When we got under the floor we found that the house was held up by insufficient framing including a small fire log.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I think for the most part everyone wants to learn a little bit about what they can do to change or fix their home to improve their quality of life. Find a builder who prioritizes functionality and quality so you can enjoy your investment and have peace in the process.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
I think homeowners should think about how they want to handle their project. There's lots of different way to manage construction. General contractors will just organize the work, and take money off the top of people they hire. But it takes the load of a homeowner. Builders or tradespeople who are doing the work themselves will have more creative agency and control over their timelines and most likely only be working on your house and not several. You really don't save money with a GC so consider hiring a professional who does the work themselves.
